Privacy Policy for InvitePaywall.com
Last Updated: May 22, 2025
1. Introduction
Welcome to InvitePaywall.com ("InvitePaywall", "we", "us", or "our"). InvitePaywall is a service provided by Irrational Finance AB that allows Discord server owners ("Server Owners", "you") to set up a paywall for their Discord server invites to reduce spam and optionally monetize their community.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website invitepaywall.com (the "Site"), use our Discord bot (the "Bot"), or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Services"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access or use our Services.
2. Data Controller
The data controller for your personal information is:
Irrational Finance AB
Organisationsnummer: 559522-9351
Masthamnsgatan 3, 413 29 Göteborg, Sweden
Email for privacy inquiries: support@invitepaywall.com
3. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect includes:
a. Information from Server Owners:
- Discord Information: When you interact with our Bot on your Discord server, we collect your Discord User ID, the Discord Guild ID, and Guild Name of the server(s) where you install or use the Bot.
- Paywall Configuration Data: Information you provide through Bot commands to set up paywalls, such as the designated slug, payment amount, and currency.
- Stripe Connect Information: If you choose to connect your Stripe account to use our Commission Tier, we will receive information from Stripe related to your connected account, including your Stripe Account ID and the email address associated with your Stripe account. We do not directly collect or store your full Stripe account credentials. The Stripe Connect process is handled via a secure link provided by our Bot, and you provide your information directly to Stripe.
b. Information from End-Users (Paying for an Invite):
- We do not directly collect personal information from end-users paying for an invite. When an end-user clicks an InvitePaywall link (e.g., invitepaywall.com/slug), they are redirected to Stripe to complete their payment.
- Stripe acts as the payment processor and collects information necessary to process the payment, such as email address, payment card details, country, and IP address, according to Stripe's own Privacy Policy.
- We receive confirmation of successful payment from Stripe, along with metadata that links the payment to the specific paywall (e.g., slug, Guild ID), but not the end-user's full payment details.
c. Information from Website Visitors (invitepaywall.com):
- Usage Data: Information about your device and how you interact with our Site, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and dates/times of visits. This is collected using Google Analytics 4.
- Cookie Data: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (including those from Google Ads and Google Analytics 4) to track activity on our Site and hold certain information. This is done subject to your consent. For more information, see Section 10 "Cookies and Tracking Technologies."
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Manage the Services:
- To enable you to install and configure the Bot on your Discord server.
- To allow you to create and manage paywalls.
- To facilitate the Stripe Connect process if you opt for the Commission Tier.
- To process payments for invites (either via our Stripe account or enabling transactions on your connected Stripe account).
- To generate and deliver Discord invite links to end-users upon successful payment.
- Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide support, including issuing new invites in case of technical problems with initial delivery.
- Analytics and Improvement: To monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve our Site and Services using tools like Google Analytics 4.
- Marketing and Advertising: With your consent, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns using tools like Google Ads and to understand how users find our Site.
- Security and Fraud Prevention: To protect the security and integrity of our Services, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable legal obligations, such as tax and accounting requirements.
5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

- Legitimate Interests: For purposes such as improving our Services, analytics, security, and fraud prevention, provided these interests are not overridden by your data protection rights.
- Consent: For the use of non-essential cookies (including those for Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads) and for certain marketing communications. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legal Obligation: To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (e.g., tax laws, accounting).
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including:
- Stripe: For processing payments made by end-users, facilitating the Stripe Connect onboarding for Server Owners, processing application fees, and managing financial transactions. Stripe's use of your information is governed by their Privacy Policy.
- Discord: Our Bot interacts with the Discord API to function within your server (e.g., respond to commands, create invites). Your use of Discord is subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
- Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads): With your consent, for website analytics and advertising performance tracking. Google's use of your information is governed by their Privacy Policy.
- Hosting Providers: Our service is hosted on Microsoft Azure. Azure's use of data is governed by their privacy terms.
- Legal Authorities: If required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
7. International Data Transfers
Some of our third-party service providers (e.g., Stripe, Google, Microsoft Azure) may be based outside the European Economic Area (EEA). When we transfer your data to these providers, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with GDPR requirements, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions.
8. Data Retention
We will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, and to provide our Services. For example, data related to a Server Owner's paywall configuration will be kept as long as the Bot is active on their server and for a reasonable period thereafter as required for our records.
9. Your Data Protection Rights (GDPR)

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@invitepaywall.com. We will respond to your request within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, such as the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten - IMY).
10. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our Site (invitepaywall.com) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies, including those from Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, to help us analyze user traffic, understand the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, and improve your experience.
- What are Cookies: Cookies are small text files stored on your device.
- How We Use Them:
- Google Analytics 4: To understand how visitors engage with our Site (e.g., pages visited, time spent, click sources).
- Google Ads: To measure the performance of our ads, track conversions (like clicks on the "Install Bot" button that lead to actual bot installations), and for remarketing purposes (with your consent).
- Your Consent: For cookies that are not "strictly necessary" for the functioning of our Site, we will ask for your consent before placing them on your device. You will be presented with a cookie consent banner when you first visit our Site, allowing you to accept or reject different categories of cookies. You can typically change your cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings or a provided cookie management tool on our Site.
- Google Consent Mode: We use Google Consent Mode to adjust how Google tags (Analytics and Ads) behave based on your consent choices, respecting your privacy preferences while allowing us to receive aggregated and anonymized data where consent is not given for personalized tracking.
